Free guide: Investing in Private Equity & Private Markets

For high net worth and sophisticated investors only

[Cover] Investing in Private Equity and Private Markets

For years, investors confined to the stock markets have been missing out.

With more companies choosing to stay private – and an increasing amount of lending happening outside the traditional banking sector – many of the most compelling investments are no longer available via public markets.

This means many of the best businesses to invest in are no longer available via mainstream funds. Out of around 159,000 firms worldwide with revenues over $100 million, a mere 19,000 (12%) are publicly listed. The rest (88%) are privately owned.

How can UK investors access this asset class?

Until recently, Private Markets funds were the preserve of institutional investors, ultra high net worth individuals and family offices. A combination of high minimum investments and long capital lock-up periods meant private equity funds were effectively off limits to individual investors.

This is now changing. Thanks to new, more flexible fund types, it’s now possible for qualifying individual investors to get exposure to Private Markets from as little as £10,000 minimum investment.

Please note: these investments are for those who can self-certify as high net worth or sophisticated investors. Private Markets are among the least liquid assets and your capital is at risk. You should not invest money you cannot afford to lose. This free guide is not advice or a personal recommendation – it simply explains the main facts, so you can decide for yourself.
