Free guide: Tax-efficient investing for high earners
By award-winning Sunday Times columnist Ian Cowie
The Budget is on 26 November. If you are a high earner, your income, dividends, property, pension and estate could all be potentially in the Chancellor’s firing line.

Where could you still invest tax-efficiently? This free 16-page guide explains in plain English how experienced investors could:
Get up to 50% income tax relief
Earn tax-free dividends
Wipe out up to half of a capital gains tax bill
Shield your investments from 40% IHT
Escape the pension restrictions
Higher earners will continue to bear the brunt of the Government’s tax plans – and more people will now be caught. Three quarters of all income tax payments this year are expected to come from the top 25% of taxpayers. And that’s not the ultra-rich. If you earn more than £47,400, you’ll likely be in that top 25%. If you earn £71,600, you’ll likely be in the top 10%, who pay nearly 60% of all income tax.
And if what the papers say is true, it may just be about to get a lot more stringent.

Please note: some of the investments described are in small companies, which are riskier than larger ones. The trade-off is that if you are a high net worth individual or sophisticated investor you could enjoy significant benefits. Remember, tax rules can change and benefits depend on circumstances. This free guide is not advice or a personal recommendation – it simply explains the main facts, so you can decide for yourself.

Who is behind Wealth Club?
Wealth Club is the UK’s largest investment service for high net worth and experienced investors.
We aim to provide clear, impartial and well-researched information on investment opportunities including Venture Capital Trusts, Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS / SEIS) funds, direct single company investments, Inheritance Tax portfolios, Forestry funds, and Private Markets funds.
We do this so that you can confidently decide for yourself where to invest. We review performance data, analyse fund managers’ track records and experience. We meet and interview the fund managers to add depth to our research.
Wealth Club is a relatively young business but its founding members have years of investment experience. Four of us have held senior positions at one of the UK’s largest, most successful stockbrokers.
Alex Davies, founder and chief executive, was a board director at Hargreaves Lansdown. He led the team that built the UK’s largest direct-to-consumer SIPP with more than 150,000 clients and over £12 billion under management. Alex is a keen investor with a portfolio of shares, funds, property, EIS, SEIS and VCTs.
Despite having launched as recently as February 2016, the media has quickly recognised Wealth Club and regularly comes to us for comments on tax-efficient investments. Alex and our research team have regularly been quoted in the FT, Times, Telegraph, City AM, MoneyWeek, This Is Money and Investors’ Chronicle, to name but a few.
More than 12,400 investors have already invested over £1.5 billion through our service (Jul 2024). As one client put it: “Seeing a website with intelligent commentary on the various offerings is a breath of fresh air”.
